We each have buried treasure within us. How do we find it? Locked within our inner being lies our deepest heart’s desires. How do you tap into it? What can you do to have it manifest within your life? For some every day can be a struggle to survive. You go through the motions of just going to a job that you don’t like. Last night when I got into my car this song was just starting to play on the radio……I had hit my rock bottom. There was no where to go. I drove to a new place. One that was filled with hope. One that was filled with new friends. One that will be my first steps to recovery from an addiction to ________. This is my song. It remind me that I am broken. I have fallen apart. But I am learning to pick up the pieces of my life again. There are so many DIS-EASES that can be put into the blank space. Just for today……I made it through. I survived. One day at a time.

On this day for lovers…..I choose to love myself unconditionally……faults and all. Nobody is perfect. I like myself for who I am and that is all that matters. I do not need a man to complete my life. If one comes along that will be a bonus. I will more than likely spend tonight alone. That will be fine with me. I’ll snuggle up with a good book or with a ball of yarn in my hand. It’s a day for flowers and candy………I will not get any. That’s fine by me. I’ll treat myself to a big hot cup of chai and cheesecake at my favorite dessert store. On this day for lovers….I choose to love myself first.

Sorting Through The Stuff Of Life

This past two weeks have been difficult for me. I have been clearing out the junk bedroom to make room for two beds. I sat down on the carpet and ripped hundreds of pieces of paper. Junk mail, medical bills, bills that I couldn’t afford to pay. It’s been a painful look into my past. My past history of hurt. I didn’t cry until today……The reality hit me. HE IS NO LONGER IN YOUR LIFE. I need to make room in my heart for a new relationship. That new relationship is a relationship with myself. I need to love myself first. Only then will I learn to love someone else again. In order to do that….I need to heal my past. I need to let go. I need to start fresh. I need to have a vision of what I want my life to be. Slowly the picture comes into focus……..I see myself being young and vibrant again……I felt it yesterday when I was carded. I am in my mid forties. Yes!!! That was a boost of self esteem. Slowly but surely I am sorting through the stuff of my life.

Make Some Heart Shaped Jello Cookies For Valentines

JELLO COOKIES

3/4 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 (3 oz.) pkg. Jello (orange, cherry & lemon are good choices)
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2 1/2 c. flour

Mix all ingredients, roll dough into small balls. Put them on a greased cookie sheet, then dip the bottom of a glass in sugar and press onto dough until flat, then put them in the oven. Bake at 350 degrees for 5 minutes or more

Learn To Love Yourself First

In order to find love, you need to love yourself first. For some this may be a tall order. Especially if you have been in relationships where you have been emotionally or physically abused. There needs to be a starting point. For starters look at yourself in the mirror. Really look at yourself. You are unique. There is no one in the world like you…..Unless you are a twin. You were made for a reason and a purpose. This is your time to discover yourself. Talk to yourself privately. Tell yourself the words that you have been wanting to here…..

I am worthwhile

I am capable of finding love

There is someone out there for me

They will find me when the time is right

You get the idea. Be positive in what you say to yourself. You deserve it. You have self worth. Just believe in yourself.
